Pete Burns, of Dead or Alive and Celebrity Big Brother UK, has passed away after suffering a "massive cardiac arrest" at 57, according to a statement on his website and Twitter.

The voice of '80s banger "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)", the bisexual star often made headlines for his gender non-conforming appearance and cosmetic surgery.

He was married to Lynne Corlett for nearly three decades, before splitting in 2006. Shortly after, Burns announced his engagement to Michael Simpson. They were married for only 10 months before splitting, although the Advocate reports that the pair later reunited and were still together at the time of Burns' death.

Celebrities and fans alike have taken to Twitter to express their sorrow:

RIP, Pete.
