Comedian, actress, and producer Amy Poehler has a new project on her slatea romantic sitcom about an interracial male couple who find love within the Miami restaurant scene.

Titled Family Style, the sitcom has been sold by Poehler’s production company - Paper Kite - to the ABC network in the U.S.  Poehler is billed as the sitcom’s executive producer.

The show’s title alludes to the big, bustling family restaurant the series will take place within.

According to Pink News, the show was pitched to ABC as a “gay take” on the 1970s comedy series The Odd Couple.

The project is inspired by the experiences of Difficult People showrunner Scott King. Difficult People is another sitcom produced under the Paper Kite banner.

King will be co-writing Family Style’s script alongside romcom screenwriter Claudia Lonow.
