While performing at London’s Union Chapel this week, Years & Years' frontman Olly Alexander got to live out every Spice Girls fan's wildest dreams, by singing with Melanie Chisholm, aka Sporty Spice.

The band was performing a set to help celebrate the 50th birthday of Shelter - a charity which helps people struggling with bad housing and homelessness - when the former Spice Girl joined them on stage.

They sang two songs together: the Spice Girls' safe-sex anthem "2 Become 1", and "When You're Gone", the pop duet released by Bryan Adams and Mel C.

The whole thing was pretty amazing to watch, but the best bit is seeing Olly Alexander's HUGE, starstruck grin as he shares the stage with the pop icon, introducing her as "ACTUAL SPICE GIRL, Melanie C". He also jokes that he "really only agreed to do the show so that this could happen".

Years & Years' Olly Alexander dragged a newspaper over its coverage of Milo Yiannopoulos
The singer criticised the paper for ignoring the voices of everyone the infamous Twitter troll has "targeted and abused".

A fun fact about "2 Become 1"—the album version of the track includes the lyrics "Any deal that we endeavour/boys and girls feel good together", but was changed to "Once again if we endeavour/love will bring us back together" for the single release, because the girls had a huge LGBT+ fanbase and didn't want to exclude anyone.
