Fans of gay-themed coming-of-age film Love, Simon are celebrating after the film took home the gong for 'Best Kiss' at yesterday's MTV Movie Awards.
The award was accepted by lead actor Nick Robinson's co-star Keiynan Lonsdale, who played the role of Simon's friend and secret crush, Bram. In the film, the pair share a romantic kiss on a Ferris wheel as their friends watch on and cheer.
Lonsdale, who came out as bisexual last year, is an Australian actor and singer. He released his first single "Kiss the boy" earlier this year.
“I just want to say to every kid: You can live your dreams and wear dresses; you can live your dreams and kiss the one that you love no matter what gender they are,” he told the crowd.
He continued: “You can live your dreams and you can believe in magic; you can live your dreams, and you can be yourself.”
Last year the Best Kiss award was won by Moonlight actors Ashton Sanders and Jharrel Jerome.
