Australia tip-off their FIBA Basketball World Cup preparations with a series of two-game ties in August, starting in Perth against Group H rivals Canada.

Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis has selected a squad containing several NBA and NBL stars, including reigning MVP Andrew Bogut (Sydney Kings), Chris Goulding (Melbourne United), Cameron Gliddon (Brisbane Bullets), Nick Kay (Perth Wildcats) and assist-leader Nathan Sobey (Brisbane Bullets).

Lemanis' Australia-based contingent will feature heavily against a Canada team, somewhat weakened by the withdrawal of established NBA talent, before travelling to Melbourne to face defending champions USA.

Boomers make big cuts in final 12-man World Cup squad
Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis has overlooked a pair of players with NBA experience in his final selection for next month's FIBA World Cup in China.

Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand will also participate in the International Basketball Series, facing Canada in Sydney - which will include 10 NBL players.

The high number of local talent is sure to excite fans ahead of the upcoming 2019-20 season, of which all 126 NBL matches will be LIVE streamed via SBS On Demand - including 67 games LIVE, FREE and in HD on SBS VICELAND.
