Thursday’s draw took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where it was revealed Saudi Arabia, China PR, Oman and Vietnam would also make up Group B.

The winners and runners-up of each group – of which, there are four in total – will qualify directly for the World Cup in Qatar, while the two third-placed teams will advance to a playoff for intercontinental qualification.

Asian qualifying matches are scheduled to be played from September 2021 through to March next year, with December the only month free of fixtures.
