Although the beauty industry has made improvements in providing options for people with darker skin tones, any beauty addict will tell you that a few options are never enough, which is why former Destiny's Child star and all-round queen Kelly Rowland is releasing a makeup range specifically for people of colour.

Talking to Essence, Rowland said that she is starting the line with her make-up artist Sheika Daley. The company is going to start with just a line of false lashes and grow from there "for all women," but she stressed the importance of creating products for dark skin tones.

"But [we're] definitely making sure we have our chocolate girls covered. Gotta get the chocolate girls in there! We have to have that, you know," the artist said.

Rowland said that supermodel Iman inspired her to launch the line, saying: "I think Iman has done a beautiful makeup line and I want to do it too!"

No word on a release date just yet, but with the need for more diversity in the beauty industry, it can't come soon enough.
