Kanye West is preparing for his fourth fashion show but only models of diverse backgrounds need apply.

The controversial rapper shared a very brief casting call to Twitter this week stating he wanted “multiracial women only, no makeup please come as you are”.

But despite its brevity, the post has landed West in hot water, with many fans questioning whether he is excluding all single race people.

One commenter wrote, “..so no black women??” while another asked, “how do I become a multiracial woman?"

Other Twitter users raised how a model’s multiracial background would be checked, with one person saying “@kanyewest do they need to bring their ancestry.com dna results to the call or....."

Not everyone took offence however, and some shared photos of themselves and what "multiracial" means to them.

West is known for using a host of diverse models in his past fashion shows, something which has set him apart from many high-fashion labels that have a majority of fair-skinned models.

In fact, a Fashion Spot report into diversity at 2016 Autumn/Winter fashion shows across London, Paris, Milan and New York, found that a staggering 75 per cent of models were white.
