Batman visits a young boy living in a refugee camp, where they play hide and seek, arm wrestle, and fly a kite together in a moving new video put out by children's charity War Child.

At the end of their fun adventures, Batman carries the tired boy - but all is not what it seems.

The video has been released by War Child Holland to raise awareness and funds for their campaigns to help children whose lives are torn apart by war.

According to the UN, there are more than 4.8 million Syrian refugees, of which half are children.

It is the first of three films being produced for the organisation, whose mission statement is "Because no child should be part of war. Ever."

The first one is already delivering a powerful message on social media.

Superheroes have been social justice warriors all along
In Green Arrow: Rebirth, the titular hero applied one of nerd culture's most common slurs to himself: that of social justice warrior. Why should this shift shock?
