Maddison Keeney's heebie jeebies were nowhere to be seen this time in Kazan, Russia - the same venue she eventually crashed out after standing poised on the podium in the World Championships in July 2015.

In Kazan, Russia, July 2015, this happened to diver Maddison Keeney at the World Aquatics Championships.

The young star had one foot on the medal podium in the one-metre springboard final until this last dive.

At round #4 of the FINA Diving World Cup Series on the weekend in the same venue, things didn't go quite the same way.

Keeney qualified for the final in second position, but dropped to fifth after the first dive. She improved her position to finish third on 352.15 points behind China’s He Zi on 388.20, with Italy’s Tania Cagnotto taking silver with 362.20 points.

The 19-year-old also finished fourth at round #3 of the series in Canada just over a week ago. Keeney is said to be one of Australia's most gifted divers and an "x" factor for Rio.

Australia's Olympic diving trials happen in Melbourne from May 26.
