LeeAdianez Rodriguez completed 16 extra kilometres after she got into the wrong road race. As you do.
She registered for the 5km race of last Sunday's Rochester Regional Health Flower City Challenge.
Rodriguez was late to the start line so began running with what she were the rest of the 5 km runners.
But they happened to be half-marathoners starting the 21km course.
Rodriguez realised halfway through she was in the wrong race but decided to finish anyway, completing the half-marathon in 2:43:31.
Her mother was worried when she wasn't among the finishers of the 5km. They were reunited when she finished.
"She gave me a really big scare," her mother Brendalee Espada said.
"Two hours after I started looking for her, I see that one of the officers found her. And I see she has a medal."
