Because Geena Davis is The Greatest and continues to do no wrong, the actress reunited the cast of A League Of Their Own over the weekend at the Bentonville Film Festival.

While the reunion was missing Tom Hanks, Madonna, Lori Petty and Rosie O’Donnell,  Megan Cavanagh (Marla Hooch) took part, and that’s all the really matters.

Joining Davis and Cavanagh was Anne Ramsey (Helen Haley), Tracy Reiner (Betty Spaghetti), Ann Cusack (Shirley Baker), Freddie Simpson (Ellen Sue Gotlander), and Patti Pelton (Marbleann Wilkenson) - and the game had the added bonus of no Stillwell.

The former Rockford Peaches were joined by actual Peach Gina Casey, who threw out the first pitch.

The game was held as part of the Bentonville Film Festival, which Davis co-founded, and it’s hoped the reunion game will return along with the event next year.

Can we start the calls for A League Of Their Own 2: The Golden Years where Dottie and Kit come out of retirement to coach their respective granddaughters? Please?

Zela rated it as one of the best female sports movies of all time. Because of course we did.

Women in sports movies: A league of one's own
There is nothing better than watching a movie about the trials and tribulations of sport, and portrayals of the importance and emotions behind winning or losing. But it’s not somewhere that women’s stories are often told.
