What’s your warm up song?

My favourite warm up song changes each season, last year's was definitely Downtown by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. I wish i was in that film clip partying with them.

What are you watching on TV / streaming right now?

I've just finished House of Cards and am hanging out for the next session of Game of Thrones.

Vegemite: do you keep in the fridge or pantry?

Pantry. There is no discussion. Same as tomato sauce.

Favourite other sport?

I love Tennis during the Australian Open but must admit I fall off the bandwagon after it's finished. Love my Hawks in the AFL, and I'll watch absolutely any sport during the Olympics.

To play me in a movie of my life I’d want …

Someone super famous who wants to spend lots of time with me in the lead up to get to know me. Then we can become best friends and get me invited to the Oscars.

What do you hope to see from Zela?

Insight in to Women’s Sport – the success, the hard work, the day to day of being an athlete. I don’t want to see article after article discussing the pay gap. I know we need to keep talking about it but I want to get to the point where we don’t need to talk about it anymore.

Who was your role model growing up?

My basketball role models were Shelley Sandie and Lucille Baillie. These days my role models are Lyn White (Animals Australia) and Jane Goodall.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?

Retired from playing basketball! Although that will be a lot closer than 10 years.

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

I LOVE both but if I have to choose, I am a dog person. I have a 9 year old black Labrador fur child named Ari. She is my everything.

Australian Opal Rachel Jarry's just home from a European tour on the Road to Rio so she had some spare time to answer our questions.
