All the action from the 2016 Roxy Pro Gold Coast - #1 of the Women's Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour
Wednesday 16 Mar 2016

Australia's Tyler Wright won the Roxy Pro Gold Coast this afternoon, the first event of the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT).  It's the second time Wright has won the event, winning in 2013.

Her best two waves (Wave 4: 8.17, Wave 5: 6.50) scored her a total of 14.67 which American Courtney Conlogue never looked like beating.

Wright defeated 2015 WSL Championship Tour winner, Carissa Moore (Hawaii) in the semi finals with a devastating 8.50 on Wave 3, her other best wave a 5.67 (Wave 1).

The 21-year-old from Culburra Beach, NSW will wear yellow as leader at the next WSL CT event, the Rip Curl Women's Pro Bell's Beach.

A WSL statistic posted during the coverage stated that 60% of surfers who win the Roxy Pro Gold Coast go on to win the World Title later that year.
