Preeti was born in Punjab and studied her MA in English and Journalism. She started her career as a college lecturer in Haryana teaching MA English classes and then moved on to teach English to Law students in Dhainthal (Punjab). While teaching she started writing for a local newspaper, with her articles largely based on feminism, youth and literature.

While teaching she started writing for a local newspaper, with her articles largely based on feminism, youth and literature.

After arriving in Australia, she continued to pursue her teaching career in South Australia before moving to Melbourne in 2013. It was then, that she got an opportunity to further her journalism career with SBS Punjabi . Preeti is passionate about current affairs and social issues, especially related to women and youth. Through her work as producer at SBS she constantly strives to serve the Punjabi community by bringing to them unbiased, helpful and current information on all relevant issues and events.

Apart from being a teacher and journalist, Preeti is a committed wife and mother of two. When she is not working or taking care of her family she enjoys; reading, exercise, travel and sewing.
