Perth based Mr Petar Radanovic is 91 year old. He was born in Kalgoorlie into southern European mining family. In an interview for our program Mr Radanovic recalls an incident known as the Kalgoorlie Race Riots, in January 1934 in Kalgoorlie when southern European migrants, especially from Italy and Montenegro and Serbia, were targeted and one was killed. This episode was recently covered in the SBS series relating to mining in Australia. It has been described as the longest-lasting race riot in the history of Australia.
