She has written on her Mars One Profile:

I am an ordinary person with unusual wishes. I believe anything is possible! News junkie and bookworm with open mind. Two masters degrees, one in Geography from Hunter College in NYC and in Interior Decoration from Florence, Italy. Bachelor in Geological Engineering. I can analyze and prettily arrange the rocks on Mars. I am a Science Fiction fan and honestly believe that we are not alone in the Universe. The Red planet will be the next home for humanity and this time around maybe we can manage without wars.
