The Sulphur Slaves - Like his father and grandfather before him, Syakur works collecting sulphur from the Mount Welirang volcano in the Indonesian province of East Java. The work is arduous. Each day, the men carry loads of sulphur four kilometres down the mountain to their camp, in baskets carried on a bamboo pole across their shoulders. The sulphur fumes affect their health, rotting their teeth, and making them cough incessantly. Once a week, the sulphur collectors make the twenty-kilometre journey to the small town of Tretes, where they sell their sulphur to a cooperative. They are paid less than two Australian dollars per fifty kilos. Every year, Syakur makes the pilgrimage to another volcano, Mt Bromo. Presented by Silvio Rivier. Deadly Tracks - Franz, Hansi, Waldi and Herbert have been mates for a long time. Waldi is the bank manager of the local village, a place for skiers in winter and a centre for tourism in general. During a stay in a ski hut in the mountains, Waldi confesses to having some difficulties with his bank. He has committed fraud and is facing an audit shortly. The friends agree to put up 300,000 schillings each to make up the 900,000 he needs to be in the clear. When Waldi asks for more, they decide to kill him. The following morning, they all ski down to the valley, but Waldi overshoots a ledge and falls to his death. Stars Karl Markovics, Sandra Cervik, and Wolf Bachofner. Movie: A film about the life of Garrincha, Brazil's second greatest football player after Pele, and considered one of the greatest players of all time. It is said that he, more than any other player, won the 1962 World Cup for Brazil. Garrincha is also famous for his off-field antics, as he spent a lot of time on women, alcohol and drugs - his affair with singer Elza Soares was much talked of - and he finally died of alcohol and drug abuse.
