It was an eventful opening stage for two-times Dakar winner, Toby Price. Finishing ninth on the stage in T1 Ultimate, Price and Sam Sunderland encountered electrical gremlins post stage and it was a mad scramble to cross the finish gantry and back to the bivouac.
