Departure of SBS Director of Radio
28 April 2009
The Director of SBS Radio, Paula Masselos, has announced that she is stepping down from her role for personal reasons.
Ms Masselos, who took up the position in 2006, will relinquish her duties immediately but will remain available in an advisory role for a period of time.
SBS Managing Director, Shaun Brown, said:
“Paula has led SBS Radio through a significant period of change and has laid the foundations for the further challenges that lie ahead. She leaves SBS Radio in far better shape than she inherited it.
“Her contribution has not been limited to Radio. As a member of the Senior Executive she has provided a passionate, distinctive and valued contribution to the strategic planning required to put the whole organisation on a stronger footing.”
Ms Masselos said:
“Working with SBS, and SBS Radio in particular, has been an honour and a privilege.
“SBS is a unique organisation in the media landscape which continues to make a significant contribution to community harmony by promoting and supporting multicultural Australia through its culturally diverse output.
“I am sad to be leaving SBS for personal reasons. However, I am pleased to have made a significant contribution to the changes occurring within SBS Radio and to its current success and I believe it is now positioned to build on that success.
“I would like to thank the dedicated and creative people I’ve been so lucky to work with.”
