SBS and Pacific Magazines share an appetite for a new food magazine
SBS and Pacific Magazines today announced the launch of a new monthly newsstand food magazine.
“We have been working for some time now to find the perfect partner for this new venture and we are thrilled to join forces with Pacific Magazines,” SBS’s Director Content, Television and Online, Matt Campbell said.
“A food magazine is the ideal way to expand SBS’s already strong food offering to a broader audience. The title will also be the only magazine on the market supported by a comprehensive slate of SBS commissioned and acquired food programming throughout the year.”
Mr Nick Chan, CEO, Pacific Magazines, said:
“The magazine will blend the best of Pacific Magazines’ publishing experience and the depth, breadth and calibre of SBS’s food programming. This unique partnership provides the ideal platform to do things significantly differently to other titles on the newsstand.
“Whilst the food category is well catered for by specialist and general magazines, we have identified an emerging market which Pacific Magazines and SBS are perfectly placed to capitalise on. These audiences are confident cooks, enjoy trying new things, enjoy travelling and most of all they like to experience life through food.”
The title will launch in Spring 2011 with a circulation target in the range of 50,000.
