SBS 2’s coverage of the 2016 Hyundai A-League Grand Final will kick off this Sunday, 1 May from 4.30pm. This year’s current premiers Adelaide United will take on Western Sydney Wanderers at Adelaide Oval.
Neither side have taken out the championship trophy, with both teams defeated on two separate occasions. This season we”ve seen Adelaide complete a remarkable comeback from bottom of the ladder after Round 8, to storm home and reach the Grand Final.
The Wanderers too, experienced an incredible comeback in their semi-final, after falling three goals down in just 25 minutes. Western Sydney eventually prevailed 5-4 after Extra Time to book their place in the showpiece match, in what”s been described as one of the greatest A-League matches of all time.
SBS 2’s coverage of the Adelaide and Western Sydney battle will be coming direct from Adelaide Oval’s pitch side. The Grand Final coverage will be led by Chief Football Analyst Craig Foster and 2006 A-League Champion David Zdrilic. SBS Football Reporter Lucy Zelic will be reporting pitch side, with David Basheer and former Socceroo captain Craig Moore providing match commentary.
