NITV broadcasts live action from the 2016 Indigenous Rugby League Koori Knockout
Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd October live at 9am on NITV (Ch 34 & Foxtel 144)
NITV will be at the heart of the 46th NSW Indigenous Rugby League Knockout when Sydney’s Leichhardt Oval hosts a force of regional and metropolitan NSW teams to battle it out for rugby league glory.
Known as one of the largest gatherings of Indigenous peoples in the world, The Koori Knockout is rugby league at its best, with more than 100 teams across the men’s, women’s and junior tournaments competing for the top prize.
NITV will bring full day live match coverage of the semi-final and grand final clashes on Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd October. Commentating from the Oval, presenters Brad Cooke, Djuro Sen and Daniel Connifer will bring viewers exclusive interviews and news, while Joe Williams, Owen Craigie, Ronald Griffiths and George Rose will be on the side-lines for the first reactions from the ground.
Mark Ella, Head of Sport and Internal Productions at NITV, said: “The Koori Knockout showcases some of Australia’s best rugby league talent – but it’s so much more than that. The event is about family, community and celebrating local Aboriginal culture — it’s a real modern-day corroboree.”
“NITV is proud to bring viewers all the action and community stories from the Koori Knockout over the long weekend, as we have done for the last eight years.”
Viewers can keep up to date with all the news via the NITV website, and join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter using #KooriKnockout and #NITV.
