The SBS Community Advisory Committee meeting included presentations from SBS and NITV to members in attendance including SBS Deputy Chairman George Savvides, and SBS Non-Executive Board Member, Dot West. Hosted by The Welcome Centre’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohammad Al-Khafji, the SBS team also engaged South Australian stakeholders to share on their programs promoting social cohesion through academia, sport, faith and settlement.
SBS then engaged members of the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission (SAMEAC) in a roundtable meeting with over 30 representatives joining the discussion on the 11 April. It was an invaluable feedback session with many new networks made.
The Conversations with SBS — Exploring Diversity in South Australia (#SBSinSA) stakeholder forum closed the program on 12 April. NITV News Presenter, Natalie Ahmat, hosted the evening at Mercury Cinema with opening remarks from the Hon. Jing Lee, Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs, Trade and Investment and Small Business, followed by a warm welcome from SBS Deputy Chairman, George Savvides. The forum invited key stakeholders hear directly from members of the SBS Board of Directors, Executive and stakeholder engagement teams and to ask questions, as well as provide opportunities to partner and collaborate on interstate projects.
