The First Nations Media Australia, formerly known as Indigenous Remote Communications Association, transitions from representing remote media for the past 18 years, to representing Indigenous media nationally across radio, television, print and online.
The CONVERGE national conference featured workshops with a sharp focus on the future, acknowledging broadcasters initially established to maintain and develop culture, language and community, now evolving into multimedia organisations that have international audiences and growth.
Keynote addresses included representatives from Prime Minister and Cabinet whom highlighted the annual government spending on the Indigenous Broadcasting Program with SBS and NITV central to the ever developing national Indigenous media landscape.
