Statement on the appointment of Katrina Rathie to the SBS Board
The SBS Board and Executive have welcomed the appointment of Katrina Rathie as a Non-executive Director of the SBS Board, following the announcement today by the Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts, The Hon Paul Fletcher MP.
Ms Rathie is a Non-executive Director serving on a number of Boards including Bubs Australia, Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia and the NSW Rugby Union/Waratahs. She is a member of the Advisory Boards of Media Diversity Australia, UNSW Law & Justice, and the Culture Strategy Committee of the University of Sydney. From 2014 to 2021 she was Partner in Charge at law firm King Wood & Mallesons and is the NSW Patron of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association.
Ms Rathie joins the SBS Board of Directors which consists of Chair, George Savvides AM, Deputy Chair, Christine Zeitz, and Non-executive directors Vic Alhadeff, Peeyush Gupta AM, William (Bill) Lenehan, Nyunggai Warren Mundine AO, Dorothy (Dot) West and SBS Managing Director, James Taylor.
