The three day conference’s theme was “Today’s Challenges and Solutions”, and invited Australian and international delegates to deliberate over the barriers that impede social cohesion. Delegates included government ministers and senior government officials, academics and researchers from universities and research centres, leaders and practitioners from the private sector and civil society, as well as religious leaders and scholars.

SBS News Anchor, Janice Petersen hosted the second Advancing Community Cohesion Conference dinner, which included an address from Doctor Sev Ozdowski, Western Sydney University’s Equity and Diversity Director, and Professor Peter Shergold, Western Sydney University Chancellor.

Mark Cummins, SBS’s Audio and Language Content Manager, also presented on ‘Community Cohesion, Media and the Arts’ chaired by SBS Chairman Dr Hass Dellal AO.
