Darren Farnham
Chief Technology Officer
Darren Farnham is the Chief Technology Officer at SBS, responsible for leading the organisation’s Technology, Broadcast Operations, and Media Engineering functions. Since joining SBS in 2015, Darren has overseen major modernisation initiatives that have strengthened SBS’s broadcast and digital capabilities, including upgrades to playout, production workflows, and media asset management systems.
Appointed CTO in 2021, Darren is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, guiding SBS’s technology strategy as the organisation continues to evolve to meet changing audience expectations. With more than 35 years of experience across the Australian media industry, he brings deep operational expertise and a passion for innovation that enhances creative content delivery and supports SBS’s distinctive multilingual and multicultural services. His earlier experience includes senior operational and technology roles with the TEN network, TVN (ThoroughVision) and Prime Television.
