Dr Nicholas Pappas AM

Dr Nicholas Pappas AM was appointed SBS Chair on 5 March 2026.  He joined the SBS Board as a non-Executive Director on 12 December 2024 and has also served as Acting Deputy Chair. A lawyer and experienced non-Executive Director, he is Chair of the South Sydney Rabbitohs and President Emeritus of the Hellenic Initiative Australia. Among his other roles, he serves on the boards of the Steve Waugh Foundation – Australia, and Melbourne’s Hellenic Museum. He is also the former Chair of the Bank of Sydney.

Nicholas is the Honorary Secretary of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Council and a Trustee of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia Consolidated Trust. He was appointed to the General Division of the Order of Australia in 2013 for services to the arts, rugby league and the Greek Australian community.
