Uma Oldham is the Acting Director of Marketing and Audiences at SBS, leading audience insights, marketing, creative, promo planning, publicity and social media across the network’s diverse portfolio of content and services.

With more than 20 years’ experience across media, marketing and communications, Uma has held senior leadership roles across client and agency environments spanning entertainment, travel, automotive, FMCG and finance. Since joining SBS in 2017, she has helped evolve the organisation’s audience strategy and marketing capability, including launching major brand platforms such as the “We Go There” campaign and driving growth for SBS On Demand and SBS First Nations and in-language content.

Uma is recognised for her collaborative leadership style, passion for building high-performing teams, and focus on building meaningful audience connections through creativity, innovation and data-informed strategy.

Born in India and raised in regional Australia, she brings a diverse perspective and is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in media. This includes as a member of SBS’s Inclusion Council and through numerous board and advisory roles supporting multicultural communities, youth and anti-racism initiatives.
