Alone Australia: Learning about Country

This resource focuses on the Alone Australia television series, which was filmed in the Artic Circle Season 4, Tasmania (lutruwita) for Season 1 and 3, and South Island of New Zealand, Aotearoa’s Te Waipounamu for Season 2. It explores the concepts of survival and resilience through a range of subjects (LAs). It also provides opportunities for students to learn more about Country where they learn and live, to problem solve, and to observe and appreciate nature.

In this resource you will find:

  • Individual, pair and collaborative activities for the classroom;
  • Guiding questions to prompt deep discussion;
  • Research tasks and investigations;
  • Problem solving scenarios;
  • Differentiated tasks with scaffolds;
  • Observational outdoor learning activities that focus on being on Country; and
