The 236km men's race took place on a 17 lap,13.7 kilometres circuit, and included a run over the Côte de Cadoudal.

Racing in national colours, Sagan (SVK) won ahead of Julian Alaphilippe (FRA) and Daniel Moreno (ESP) after a regulation four-man break was brought back and a series of late attacks were blunted by the speed of the eventual podium finishers.
“I waited until I felt the timing was right to attack and take my chance, although it wouldn't have been possible without the dedicated work of all my Slovak team-mates."
In the women’s race the title went to Dutch rider Anna van der Breggen who beat Katarzyna Niewiadoma (POL) and Elisa Longo Borghini (ITA) in a tight sprint finish.
