Go Back to Where You Came From wins prestigious Rose d’Or award

The SBS series Go Back to Where You Came From (Cordell Jigsaw Productions Pty Ltd., Screen NSW for SBS Television/ Australia) has won a prestigious international award, the Golden Rose for Best of 2012 at the Rose d’Or Festival in Lucerne, Switzerland a global entertainment television festival founded in 1961.

It is the first time an Australian production has won the award in the festival’s 51 year history.

The series also won in the category of best factual entertainment. An international 50-member Rose d’Or jury shortlisted 36 from 12 countries. More than 400 entries were submitted. The 12 Golden Roses were presented at the awards ceremony at the close of the festival.

Go Back to Where You Came From was also awarded the 2012 Logie for Most Outstanding Factual Program.
