Wolf Creek Review

Greg Mclean's first feature is technically impressive, using high definition cinematography to vividly capture the isolation of Australia's outback. Nathan Phillips and John Jarratt portray their characters with true conviction. But as a genre film something is lacking, maybe it's the middle act that doesn't seem to be there. We get no insight into the killer's motivation, instead we're forced to witness a series of graphically violent scenarios. Exercise caution before seeing Wolf Creek. If you're prone to nightmares, it could be a harrowing experience.
