Mob beat 'witch' to death in Nepal

Police in Nepal have arrested three people after villagers reportedly beat a woman to death, accusing her of being a witch.

A woman has been beaten to death in southern Nepal by a mob that accused her of being a witch, local media reports say.

A 45-year-old woman was attacked by a group of villagers who accused her of casting a spell on a neighbour's daughter in the Parsa district of the southern plains region, the Himalayan Times reported.

Police said they had arrested three women on charges of involvement in the case, while the men of the village had fled.
