Polyamorous relationships: How do they work?

Have you been in love with two people at the same time? Leesa Horn is in a polyamorous relationship with her husband of twenty years, Bryan Horn, and her boyfriend of five years, John Cosgrove.

Leesa says that in the same way that mothers can love more than one child, adults can love more than one partner at once.

“I have two separate relationships but there are three of us,” she explains.

All three live together, and have done so for five years, in the outer suburbs of Brisbane.

“Bryan has a room, John has a room, I have a room,” says Leesa.

“It’s like three really good housemates,” John adds.

“Brian and I are sort of like brothers I guess, it seems very normal to us.”

Although the three may share their lives together, Leesa keeps her sex life with Bryan and John separate.

“The three of us having sex together? Probably about four times in five years,” she says.

But how does her husband handle the jealousy?

"For jealousy to have been a problem, Bryan would never have asked John if he wanted to have sex with his wife," says Leesa.

The Feed spent a day with this interesting trio to find out about the logistics of their unconventional life.
