Micro nations in Australia

Have you ever been so frustrated by the council or the government that you wished you could live somewhere else? Well it turns out you can. Buried in the heart of Australia's biggest city is a sovereign country - a very small one.

Paul Delprat is the Prince of Wy - a micro nation located in the Sydney suburb of Mosman.

Deprat made the decision to succeed from the Mosman council in 2004 after a long running dispute about a driveway into his property. He lives in Wy with his family and dresses like any king should.

"I just like the idea of a magical inner world," he said.

"I think in each one of us there is an inner theatre going on."

When he's not ruling his own nation, Mr Delprat is an artist and has painted many people, including Helen Mirren.

"What a wonderful girl she was," he said.

But while many people might struggle with the idea of creating their own nation, Deprat said he lived a good life.

"I love poetry and I love music," he said.

"These are the things that lift the spirit.

"In life it is not what you do that you regret it is what you haven't done."
