NSW bushfires: Residents hunker down as Springwood fire sweeps over

Fires continue to burn across parts of New South Wales, with emergency services working through the night to control around 100 blazes.

Among the worst hit areas has been the town of Springwood in the Blue Mountains where at least 30 homes have been lost.

SBS World News Australia reporter, Nikki Canning is a resident of Springwood and is preparing as the fires creep closer to her house.

She spoke with Naomi Selvaratnam.
