Human Rights Watch says Ethiopian authorities have subjected political detainees to torture at the main detention centre in Addis Ababa.

Human Rights Watch says Ethiopian authorities have subjected political detainees to torture at the main detention centre in Addis Ababa.

A report by the New York-based group documents allegations of unlawful interrogation tactics, shocking human rights abuses and poor detention conditions in Maekelawi since 2010.

The report's author Laetitia Bader told Sonja Heydeman the Ethiopian government must investigate the abuse and stop illegal practices.
