Facebook delivers stronger earnings

Facebook has announced a profit of $US425 million, delivering stronger than expected earnings.

Facebook has delivered stronger-than-expected earnings, announcing a profit of $US425 million ($A449.57 million) compared with a loss a year earlier.

The third quarter results for the world's biggest social network were well ahead of most forecasts, with revenues rising sharply to $US2.016 billion, prompting a 15 per cent jump in shares in after-hours trade.
