Visa suspension leaves baby Ferouz 'in limbo': lawyer

Lawyers for an asylum-seeker family with an Australian-born baby are in limbo after the federal government suspended permanent protection visa processing.

Last week in the Federal Circuit Court the government agreed not to remove the Rohingya family until the case was properly heard, including a protection visa application.

Lawyers for four-week-old Ferouz and his family sought an injunction to prevent their removal from immigration detention in Brisbane to Nauru.

Murray Watt from Maurice Blackburn lawyers spoke with Stefan Armbruster.
