Boy, 16, stabbed at Qld house party

A 16-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with stab wounds after being assaulted at a house party at Takura, near Hervey Bay, in Queensland.

A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed in the stomach and back at a New Year's Eve party near Hervey Bay, north of Brisbane.

Police say he was assaulted by a group of people just before midnight (AEST) on Tuesday during the party at a Hornes Road home in Takura.

He was stabbed in the abdomen and back and was taken to the Hervey Bay Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

Police are urging others at the party to assist in their investigations.
