A refugee health clinic on the border of Myanmar and Thailand, says a cut in Australian aid funding could jeopardise the lives of tens-of-thousands of people.

The cut of $420,000 in funding came into effect at the start of the month, after the previous Labor government decided not to renew a three-year contract.

The cut represents a quarter of the centre's health budget for refugees from Myanmar.

Fundraising and grants manager at the Mae Tao Clinic, Yasmin Ahammad, told Biwa Kwan the announcement last July came as a shock.
