Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given a 90-day extension to the interim management committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Sharif dismissed the previous governing board in October in a dispute over elections.

The PCB says in a statement on Sunday that Sharif has extended the interim committee "with effect from January 12" and that Najam Sethi has been re-elected chairman.

Previous chairman Zaka Ashraf was suspended last year after the validity of his election was challenged in Islamabad High Court.

Sethi's powers were also restricted by another court against which the PCB has filed an appeal, but is still waiting for the decision.
