Aussie women still fighting in Ashes

Australia are still fighting hard to make a statement in the women's Ashes despite having lost the series.

Australia's women's cricket team are still hoping to send a message to England despite having lost the Ashes series.

England's win on Wednesday in Hobart in the opening T20 match clinched the tourists' Ashes win in the multi-format series.

The visiting side go into the final two T20 fixtures with an unassailable 10-4 points advantage.

England grabbed six points with their victory in the one-off Test and two each from a one-day win and T20 triumph.

Game two in the T20 series is at the MCG on Friday.

Jess Cameron, who made 16 in Australia's 3-150 in Hobart, says Australia still have plenty on the line despite Wednesday's crushing nine-wicket loss.

"It's very disappointing to lose the Ashes," Cameron said on Thursday.

"For it to be taken away like that is very gutting.

"Now we've just got to look at winning this T20 series.

"That's what we're looking forward to, is just making sure we win the next two games and make a statement to England especially coming up to this World Cup (in Bangladesh in March)."
