A group representing survivors of the Rwandan genocide has welcomed the start of the trial of a former Rwandan army captain charged with complicity in the genocide.
The trial of Pascal Simbikangwa opened earlier this week in France, in which he is accused of inciting, organising and aiding massacres during the genocide.
The outbreak of violence in 1994 in Rwanda killed some 800-thousand ethnic Tutsis and moderate Hutus in 100 days.
Françoise Lemagnen is the head of British and Rwandan-based Survivors Fund.
She has told Santilla Chingaipe about the significance of the trial.
