'Too few" early childhood services: SNAICC

A key childcare body is meeting politicians and service providers to discuss the role and funding future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander early childhood services across Australia.

The Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care says there are far too few of these services available and they are grossly underfunded.

 

And it says, as a result, many of the services are forced to cut programs and turn children away.

 

Chief Executive of the Secretariat Frank Hytten told Georgie Moore these services are crucial, but funding is uncertain.
