Public buildings, archaeological sites, museums and harbours will be among 5000 sites outfitted with free wireless internet connections across Greece this year.

Public buildings, archaeological sites, museums and harbours will be among 5000 sites outfitted with free wireless internet connections across Greece this year as part of a new plan to broaden access to internet hotspots.

The plan, as laid out by a Greek government communications agency, calls for every user to have 30 minutes of free access after connecting at each site.

The move is to help enhance Greece's appeal to global tourists.
