When Tim Cahill scored a blinding volley for Australia against Netherlands in the second Group B match for the Socceroos, the world went into meltdown. It was a fine strike, and here is how Robbie Savage called it for the BBC:

Australia's World Cup hopes are all but over after going down to the Netherlands 3-2 in Porto Alegre in what will be remembered as one of their gutsiest ever performances.
Tim Cahill equalised with arguably his best goal for Australia late in the first half after Arjen Robben had put the Dutch in front not long earlier. This tweet has now been retweeted more than 4000 times.
Incredibly, Australia took the lead through a second-half penalty from skipper Mile Jedinak before van Persie levelled with a Memphis Depay missile securing victory and Holland's passage to the next round.
After the match Tim Cahill said he was proud of his contribution.
"It's great moment. A crosser form the right. And the ball was sitting beautifully. I high-chested or headed back. But if you want a shot at the top you've got to have a go at those. And it just felt so right to hit it. And I hit it sweetly. That's what it's all about, defining moments. And another one in my career that I'm really proud of."
