A metre of snow has fallen in New South Wales' Snowy Mountains in just a week, with a further 70 cm expected this weekend.
A cold front from the Tasman has brought on the dump, which is the first of the season.
"It's been a decade since we've had snow like this," Lauren Tomasi from Thredbo Ski Resort told SBS.
The last of the mountain trails opens on Monday. It's the first time in nearly a decade that all the trails have been open in June.
"It really makes winter to have snow like this," Ms Tomasi says.
It's good timing for ski resorts, as it coincides with the start of school holidays in NSW.
Thredbo ski instructor Shea De Lorenzo says there have been "quite a few" parents who've enrolled their kids in ski lessons already.
"We'll see more tomorrow because of the school holidays," Ms De Lorenzo says.
Another cold front is expected to hit the mountains tonight, ensuring the heavy snowfall will continue.
